A Morning Membership Meeting provides networking, updates from the local and state level of your association, and education that is relevant to our industry.  Breakfast & coffee are provided.

Relationships make things happen; it’s how we get “stuff” done! Relationships are key to success – personally and professionally. Work relationships form the cornerstone for success and satisfaction with your job and your career. Because of the amount of time that we spend with colleagues, those relationships can make or break us professionally.

Human beings are naturally social creatures – we long for positive interactions, just as we do food and water. So it makes sense that the better our relationships are at work, the happier and more productive we're going to be. Not to mention, our work is more enjoyable when we have good relationships with those around us. It can also make us more innovative and creative and willing to take risks when we feel good about our relationships with our colleagues.

What's more, good relationships give us freedom; instead of spending time and energy overcoming the problems associated with negative relationships, we can, instead, focus on opportunities. Good relationships are also essential to career development. If your boss doesn't trust you, it's unlikely that he or she will consider you when a new position opens up. Overall, we all want to work with people we're on good terms with.

We also need good working relationships with others in our professional circle. Customers, suppliers and key stakeholders are all essential to our success so it's important to build and maintain good relations with these people. This presentation focuses on how to enhance the power of your relationships with coworkers and even your boss. Upon completion, the participant will:
  •  Assess individual strengths and opportunities for improvement in their people skills via a pre-session quiz.
  • Determine their predominate power framework.
  • Identify how to enhance their power framework.
  • Identify and understand the elements to building productive relationships at work.
