Welcome to the Central Virginia Apartment Association, Central Virginia's only organization advocating exclusively for multifamily rental housing. Our mission is to serve the interests of multifamily owners, managers, developers and suppliers by maintaining a high level of professionalism in the multifamily industry to better serve the rental housing needs of the public. CVAA's membership consist of more than 85 owners and management companies representing more than 50,000 rental housing units and a vendor membership base of more than 120 companies. Our purpose is to establish and maintain an industry that offers quality, multifamily housing to the public, equitably compensates its workforce and provides investors with a fair and reasonable rate of return. Through our affiliation with the National Apartment Association (NAA) and the Virginia Apartment Management Association (VAMA), CVAA not only provides its members with a wide array of training opportunities but also provides members with numerous networking opportunities. Dr. Dini Miller is the Urban Pest Management Specialist for the state of Virginia and one of the leading authorities on bed bugs in the United States. She will be joining us to speak on the new research project she is undertaking designed to evaluate the economic impact of bedbugs on the multi-family housing industry. This study seeks to provide the economic basis for the EPA to look into the approval of new products to be used for bed bug management.
